Christian Approaches to Hardship LESSON 3: Give Your Burden to God
1.Truth to Remember
We can bring our problems to God because He loves us and will care for us.
2.Connection to Life
Brothers and sisters, when people have something valuable, they put it in a safe place.
Some people deposit money in a bank. Some keep land papers, IDs, or important documents in a secure box.
Why do they do this? Because they want those things to be protected.
In the same way, we can place our trials, worries, and heavy burdens in God's hands.
3.What the Bible Says
1 Peter 5:7 says, "Cast all your anxiety on him because he cares for you."
This means we can bring our worries, fears, and burdens to God because He truly cares for His children.
4.What This Means
First, placing our burden in God's hands means giving Him what is too heavy for us.
It does not mean we pretend there is no problem. No, brothers and sisters. The problem may still be real. The pain may still be real.
But we say, "Lord, this is too heavy for me. I place it in Your hands."
Second, God knows how to care for what we give Him.
A bank may fail. A person may forget. But God never fails.
He is wise. He sees the whole picture. He knows what we need, even when we do not understand everything.
Third, God can use our trials to help us grow.
Sometimes God removes the problem quickly. Sometimes He gives us strength to endure. Sometimes He changes our heart while we wait.
But in every situation, God can work for our good and for His glory.
5.A Story to Remember
A pastor carried many worries.
His church was small. His income was not enough. His child was sick.
One night, he wrote his worries on paper. Then he prayed, "Lord, I place these burdens in Your hands."
The problems did not all disappear the next day. But his heart became lighter. He knew God was carrying him.
6.What We Should Do
What heavy burden are you carrying today? Is it about family, sickness, money, ministry, or fear about the future?
Name it before God. Give it to Him in prayer. Then take the next faithful step.
Trusting God does not mean we do nothing. Trusting God means we keep obeying Him while believing He is caring for us.
7.Respond and Pray
Today, place your burden in God's hands. Tell Him what is heavy in your heart.
Lord, our burdens are heavy, but You are faithful, so we place our trials in Your hands. Teach us to trust Your wisdom, receive Your care, and obey You one step at a time. In Jesus' name, amen.
